Planet Word’s Schwarzman Family Library is growing, and that’s something to celebrate! In honor of the 25 new books being added to the interactive collection this fall, Planet Word presents Enchanted Pages Community Day. This free, all-day celebration will feature pop-up appearances by authors and noted word lovers, performances that bring stories to life, and book-inspired activities for people of all ages.

Drop in for a bit or stay all day. All events are free, and advance registration is required for events after 4 p.m.

All day — Collaborative Sidewalk Chalk Art with Chalk R!ot | All ages

All day — What’s Your Story?: DIY Mini-Bookmaking | All ages welcome, designed for ages 6+

All day — All three floors of interactive exhibits open | All ages

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. — Performance: Rise, Rhyme, and Read with Culture Queen | All ages welcome, designed for ages 3–8

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. — Library Pop-Up Talks | All ages Planet Word staff and special guests share behind-the-scenes insights into the making and meaning of some of the interactive books featured in the Library.

1–3 p.m. — The Author Is In | Ages 8+ Meet and learn from five authors featured in Planet Word’s Library, including Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, Pablo Cartaya, Michelle Coles, Derrick Barnes, and Erin Entrada Kelly.

4–5 p.m. — Between the Lines with Jason Reynolds and Tony Keith, Jr. | FREE with separate registration required | Ages 14+ What makes a story, and what makes stories so uniquely powerful? Bestselling author Jason Reynolds explores these questions and more in an intimate discussion with Tony Keith, Jr. Register here to attend this program.

6–7:45 p.m. — Film Screening: Judy Blume Forever | FREE with separate registration required | Mature themes, recommended for ages 16+ Judy Blume Forever delves into the life and legacy of the trailblazing author of familiar favorites including Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, The Pain and the Great One, and Forever. Known for her radical honesty, Blume’s books revolutionized the way millions of readers understood themselves.
